Gorillaz cover "Crystalised" deThe xx en BBC Radio 1 - Live Lounge
Hoy por la mañana estaba revisando la Rolling Stone México, me encontré unas buenas notas, me enteré del concierto de The Whitest Boy Alive en el DF pal 2011, en enero... y veo en la barra de la derecha "Gorillaz cover The XX" a veeeeeeeer. Y está de no mames.
Daniel Victor Snaith: "música líquida para el baile"
Antes Manitoba ahora Caribou ambos proyectos musicales de Daniel Snaith matemático canadiense con todo y Ph.D ahora residente inglés clavadisimo en componer, hacer música y dar presentaciones por el mundo. En 2001 produce su primer disco Start Breaking My Heart bajo el apodo de Manitoba para cambiarlo luego de un pleito de plagio absurdo por Caribou que resulta de poner en escena una computadora, batería, guitarra, bajo y sintetizador logrando un estilo de indietronica con tintes de pop psicodélico que se presenta en vivo con una banda compuesta por Ryan Smith, Weber Brand y John Scmershal siendo Snaith quién se hace cargo de las percusiones. Sus presentaciones en vivo van a la par de una serie de proyecciones en pantallas que Snaith procura incluir para hilar sonido e imagen.
Su disco Andorra (2007) se llevó la grande del Polaris Music Prize en 2008 y Swim, su material de estudio más reciente formó parte de la lista de candidatos para el premio en su versión 2010. Aquí les dejo su Odessa del disco Swim. Encantador.

Flak Photo's 100 Portraits at the Corcoran Gallery of Art
For the past four years http://FlakPhoto.com/ has promoted contemporary photography from an international community of artists. In November 2010, Flak Photo creator Andy Adams and independent curator Larissa Leclair teamed up to produce a FotoWeek DC festival projection drawn from Flak Photo's ever-expanding gallery archive.
The exhibition features 100 dynamic portraits from an exciting group of photographers in all stages of their careers and celebrates the role that a thriving online photo community plays in the discovery of artists in the Internet Era.
The projection is screening throughout Washington, D. C. during the week of the FotoWeek DC festival at several exhibition venues: on the exterior of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, in the Satellite Central projection theater, at Dupont Circle and on screens fixed to trucks traveling throughout the streets of the city.
In the spirit of the public art projections at the festival we've mounted an online exhibition so the global photo community can experience the work of these 100 photographers from anywhere in the world.
